Bruma Sounds is a music and sound direction studio based in Madrid.
We work with directors, artists, agencies and institutions on projects where sound carries meaning — film and advertising, exhibitions and installations, brand identities, and curated programs for cultural spaces.
Our practice moves across composition, sound design, audio branding, curation and writing. We treat these as different outputs of a single discipline — musical direction — rather than as separate services. Each project starts with the same question: what does this image, space or idea need to sound like.
The studio is directed by Pedro Portellano, composer and curator with over two decades of work across the contemporary music and visual arts fields. As a composer and producer he has created music for clients including Zara, IKEA, Stella Artois, Repsol, Acciona, &Walsh, Pleid, Tavo, Coppel and Luis Urculo. As a music curator and program director he has built programs for Reina Sofía Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, Teatro Eslava, Centro Conde Duque, Matadero Madrid, Veranos de la Villa, Europalia and Red Bull Music Academy. He releases his own music under the name Bruma on Forbidden Colours and Plan B Rec.
